Overview: Development Summary

Basic Javascript

Javascript is a powerful and versatile programming language that allows developers to add interactivity and dynamic content to websites. Initially created to make websites more dynamic and responsive, it has since evolved into a language that can be used for both front-end and back-end web development, as well as other applications.

Here is an analogy of HTML, CSS, and JS to building a car

In our web development project, Javascript plays a crucial role in providing interactivity and bringing our site to life. It allows us to create dynamic content, manipulate the DOM, handle user events, and communicate with back-end servers.

Internal, and external Javascript

Javascript can be incorporated into a website in two ways: internally or externally. Internal Javascript is embedded directly within the HTML file using the <script> tag. External Javascript is stored in a separate file, typically with a .js extension, and linked to the HTML file using the src attribute of the <script> tag.

Debugging Code

Debugging is an essential part of development, and Javascript provides a built-in tool called console.log() to help us debug our code. By inserting console.log() statements into our code, we can output information to the browser's console, which can help us identify issues or track the execution of our code.

Conditional statements

Conditional statements allow us to execute specific blocks of code based on whether a given condition is true or false. In Javascript, we use the if, else if, and else keywords to create conditional statements.
